Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has admitted signing Arda Turan from Barcelona is the club’s ‘biggest desire’.
Reports in Spain have linked the former Turkey international with a return to Atletico Madrid this summer but the Istanbul giants, for whom Arda played for over five seasons before moving to Madrid, may now be favourites.
Diario Sport now state the Istanbul club are preparing to offer the Blaugrana €2.5m for a one-year loan whilst the midfielder would demand a €4m annual salary.
"Arda Turan is a true Galatasaray fan," Ozbek told Turkish outlet Hurriyet.
"He is a player I love. As a player, he has always represented us well and been an ambassador for the club. He's a true son of Galatasaray.
"Our biggest desire is for Arda to return to Galatasaray and end his career where it all started for him. We are working towards making this a reality.”
