FIFA needed for Neymar move – report

Neymar and Paris Saint-Germain are expected to ask FIFA to intervene after La Liga rejected the €222m payment for his release clause.

According to Marca, the league’s governing body has no legal right to reject the payment and it is thought this is more political gesturing than any real stumbling block to the deal.

League chief Javier Tebas has already confirmed they will report Paris Saint-Germain to UEFA for breaking Financial Fair Play rules and that he would not accept any payment.

ESPN meanwhile report that whilst Barcelona sources had revealed the club would appeal to UEFA regarding the deal, but no official complaint has yet been made.
