Dembele main Barca target – reports

Barcelona have identified Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele as their prime transfer target to replace PSG-bound Neymar, say reports.

El Mundo Deportivo lead on Wednesday with reports the French forward is at the top of the club’s radar to replace Neymar, who left the club’s training ground on Wednesday to reportedly complete a move away.

The 20-year-old netted six league goals in 32 outings for Dortmund last season and has been integrated into the French national team, is said to be ‘liked the most’ by Camp Nou officials.

A deal for Dembele would ‘not come cheap’ although reportedly would be more affordable than other prime attacking target Paulo Dybala – who would cost at least €115m, according to the report.

Barca also plan to invest the rest of the €222m they are set to receive from Neymar with PSG’s Angel Di Maria and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho high in their priority list.

However, any deal for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe is an ‘outside bet’ while the club will not move for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann due to his reported €200m release clause this summer.
