‘Depor’s Lucas bid more than Nolito’

Lucas Perez’s agent claims Deportivo La Coruna’s bid for the Arsenal forward is “more” than the reported €9m Sevilla paid for Nolito.

Depor are looking to bring back Lucas after just one year, which saw him score seven goals in just 21 appearances for Arsenal, and Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle revealed the Galicians were prepared to make the 28-year-old their biggest purchase in almost two decades.

“Arsenal know we want to go, that there are no opportunities here," the representative told BBC Sport.

“His No 9 shirt being taken away? He was angry and [sic] sad and upset, [without] being asked.

“Deportivo made an offer a week ago – it is a permanent deal and worth more than Nolito’s move to Sevilla.

“Of course [he was told he would play more]. Lucas signed for Arsenal and was the happiest person in the world and with all of his dreams to fulfil.

“Every time he played he did well, but after every time he got fewer and fewer opportunities.”

Lucas scored 19 goals for Depor during the 2015-16 campaign, prompting Arsenal to splash out €20m on the attacker last summer.
