Bartomeu warns PSG over Neymar

Josep Maria Bartomeu has warned Paris Saint-Germain that they must pay Neymar’s €222m exit clause “until the last cent” if they want the Barcelona star.

Neymar’s future at Barca was thrown into more doubt on Friday after he lashed out at teammate Nelson Semedo in training, but Bartomeu reiterated the forward would only be sold to PSG if they paid in full.

“We want Neymar to stay, but there are clauses,” the President told the Press in the Americas, reports Mundo Deportivo.

“If he wants to leave, [PSG] will have to pay his clause, until the last cent. We haven’t talked, but we’ll sit down with him when we go home.

“With the money that would come in, the team would be strengthened. Those of us that are in charge of clubs need to be in contact in order to compete firmly.

“UEFA has Fair Play controls and if any club exceeds them, they’ll be sanctioned

“Barca are the club that earn the most or second most so we can keep growing, with €800m per year.”
