Newly-promoted Girona have signed Algerian midfielder Farid Boulaya from French club Bastia on a three-year deal.
The 24-year-old passed a medical with the Catalan club before immediately flying to England to join his new teammates in pre-season training, the club’s website confirmed.
The Algerian signed a four-year deal with the Corsican side last summer but made only two appearances in a torrid campaign for Bastia, who will next season play in France’s third tier.
Boulaya, formerly of Istres and Clermont before last summer’s move, is known to be versatile and has represented Algeria at Under-20 level.
