Versatile Barcelona player Sergi Roberto is on Chelsea’s list of transfer targets this summer, according to reports.
ESPN state the 25-year-old is highly thought-of by the English Champion’s Coach Antonio Conte who has instructed his board to evaluate the possibility of a transfer.
The Spain international has a €40m release clause in his current deal at the Camp Nou and believe the Barca youth product’s versatility would be valuable in Chelsea’s 3-4-3 formation.
Roberto made 40 appearances for the Blaugrana last season but despite being primarily a deep-lying midfielder, he was deployed as right-back last season after the club did not replace Dani Alves.
However, the arrival of Benfica’s Nelson Semedo has put Roberto’s first-team place under direct threat and could give the London Blues hope over the player’s potential desire to move.
