Madrid won’t replace Danilo – report

Real Madrid will not sign a replacement for full-back Danilo, who joined Manchester City in a €30m deal earlier this week, say reports.

According to Marca, Dani Carvajal’s status as undisputed first choice right-back will continue into next season with Achraf Hakimi and Alvaro Tejero to be his main deputies.

Moroccan international Hakimi is highly-rated at the Bernabeu and is said to have a bright future, as does Castilla captain Tejero, who made his first-team debut in April’s 6-2 win at Deportivo La Coruna.

Zinedine Zidane has also indicated the possibility of playing the versatile Nacho Fernandez, primarily a central defender, in the position or winger Lucas Vazquez being utilised at full-back.

The club are said to favour all of these options ahead of signing another player – with nobody on the market who would be of sufficient quality and would be satisfied with a back-up role.
