Neymar informed Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu of his desire to leave the club after a much-anticipated meeting on Friday, say reports in Spain.
According to Diario AS, the two held a 15-minute long discussion following a train session in New York’s Red Bull Arena, with both ‘leaving the room with stern expressions’.
The Brazilian reportedly made it clear he had to agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer while Bartomeu is said to have pleaded for more time to ‘fix the situation’.
The president is said to have ‘barely spoken or smiled’ at anyone once leaving the meeting, in an apparent sign that he may be admitting defeat in the club’s desire to maintain the former Santos star.
Reports earlier on Saturday claimed Neymar had agreed personal terms with the Parisians.
