Barcelona vice president Jordi Mestre has ruled out the possibility of Neymar leaving the club, stating he was ‘200 percent sure’ the Brazilian would stay.
His comments came in the midst of intense media speculation that Paris Saint-Germain would trigger his €222m release clause with hugely-respected Brazilian TV channel Esporte Interativo saying a deal would come ‘within weeks’.
"I'm 200 percent sure that he is going to stay," Mestre said.
"I've read information in the French press that PSG themselves have categorically denied it, a club with whom we are maintaining absolutely normal relations. Nothing has changed in that aspect."
There had been increased speculation that such a move could ‘unlock’ Marco Verratti’s – a long-term target for the Catalans – move to the Blaugrana.
