Turkish giants Galatasaray have completed the signing of Sevilla’s Brazilian full back Mariano, thought to be in the region of €4.5m.
The 31-year-old’s contract at Los Rojiblancos was due to expire next season and reports in El Desmarque stated that whilst the club valued his ability, they saw a sale as ‘solid economically’.
The right-back also took up a ‘non-EU’ slot in Eduardo Berizzo’s squad and failed in his request to gain access to Spanish nationality ahead of next season.
He is reportedly due to earn a significantly increased salary at his new club and is guaranteed first-team football with the chance of winning major trophies.
Last week, the Andalucians signed full-back Sebastien Corchia from Lille in a €6.5m deal and he will be an automatic replacement for the Brazilian.
Mariano signed for Sevilla two years ago for €3.5m from French club Bordeaux, and replaced Coke in the starting line-up.
