Atletico Madrid have lodged a €45m bid for AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho despite not being allowed to register new signings until January, say reports.
According to Diario AS, Atleti have made an offer for the Brazilian who previously had a short-term stint at Real Madrid although the outlet later reported the club had denied a deal had been struck.
Various other Spanish media outlets have since picked up on the bid alongside French sports newspaper L’Equipe, who confirm a bid had been made but no agreement has yet been reached.
The 23-year-old is also the subject of attention from Paris Saint-Germain, although it is reported Monaco are unlikely to sell to their Ligue 1 title rivals.
Fabinho currently has a ‘very impressive salary’ at the French club and is not keen to force a move, although Diego Simeone’s side are said to be confident of persuading the versatile midfielder to join his ranks.
