Real Madrid defender Marcelo is not worried about the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club as ‘many things said in the press are lies’.
The vice-captain at the Bernabeu was speaking in relation to his teammate’s alleged €14.7m in tax fraud supposedly leading to the Portuguese star wishing to leave the club this summer.
"Of course I speak with him," Marcelo is quoted by ESPN as telling Brazilian programme Noite dos Craques.
"I am not worried. Many things said in the press are lies. There is no reason for me to be worried.
"Cristiano knows what is best for himself.
"As a friend, not just as a teammate, whatever decision he takes this year, next year, or in 10 years time, I will be there to support him."
