Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United have reportedly opened talks with former Manchester City and Spain winger Jesus Navas.
Navas appeared to be closing in on a return to Sevilla, but AS claims both parties failed to agree personal terms.
Consequently, Newcastle have been able to enter the fray and could pay Navas the €1.5m salary he is demanding.
The newspaper adds the Premier League new boys have already contacted the free agent’s camp and that negotiations are in progress.
