Malaga want Borja Baston loan

Malaga are in talks with Swansea City over a season-long loan deal for striker Borja Baston to replace Everton-bound Sandro Ramirez, say reports in Spain.

According to Malaga-based Diario Sur alongside reports in the BBC, Los Boquerones see the 24-year-old as Sandro’s replacement and a loan deal would fit into their economic structure.

Borja joined the Welsh side last summer but netted only one Premier League goal in four starts as he struggled to break into the side under a succession of different managers, while a proposed January loan move to Villarreal fell through.

The Swans signed the striker for €18m from Eibar last summer after he scored 18 La Liga goals in 29 starts and Malaga sporting director Arnau reportedly views him as a prime transfer target, hopeful of concluding a season-long loan deal.
