Pepe set for Paris – report

Pepe is set to join Paris Saint-Germain on a one-year contract once his contract at Real Madrid expires at the end of the month, according to reports.

ESPN state the Portuguese defender is set to sign a one-year contract with the French giants after Los Blancos decided not to renew his deal.

Antero Henrique’s arrival as sporting director at the Parc des Princes is said to be a key figure in accelerating the deal – a compatriot of Pepe’s who previously held the role at FC Porto, from where there defender moved to the Bernabeu in 2007.

The one-year deal will have the option for a second year and is subject to the completion of a medical which the 34-year-old will undertake upon his return from the Confederations Cup.
