Deportivo La Coruna are ‘very close’ to completing the signing of River Plate defender Alexander Barboza, say reports in Spain.
According to La Voz de Galicia, the 22-year-old is in ‘very advanced talks’ with Depor and an agreement should be reached by the end of the current week.
Barboza is likely to replace the outgoing Sidnei – who is rumoured to be moving to the Chinese Super League – in the heart of the Galician’s defence.
Renowned as a tall and commanding central defender, Barboza made 42 Argentine Primera Division appearances across two seasons on loan at Defensa y Justicia.
