Banega to Mexico?

Former Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega is set to depart Inter after just one season to join Mexican side Tigres, according to reports in Spain.

AS state a deal is close to being agreed between the Mexican club and the Nerazzurri, who will pay between €13-15m for the Argentine midfielder.

Initially reported by Argentine sports programme Estadio Futbol and then carried by Gazetta Dello Sport, the Italian giants are hoping to revamp their squad this summer but must make sales in order to meet Financial Fair Play rules.

The 28-year-old appeared 28 times for Inter in his debut season in Serie A, scoring six goals, but has failed to exert the same influence he held at Sevilla.

Tigres have a number of non-Mexican stars including Ikechukwu Uche, Eduardo Vargas and André-Pierre Gignac.
