Sevilla are in discussions with Manchester City Nolito over a season-long loan deal but Iago Aspas wants the forward at Celta Vigo.
The former Galician frontman, who joined City last summer, was photographed in Seville talking to Los Rojiblancos sporting director Oscar Arias on Tuesday.
However, Celta are still hopeful of resigning the striker on a permanent deal although they would need the English side to temporarily subsidise a percentage of his wages.
"I would bring Nolito back because we played together in the 2015-16 campaign and we had great results," Aspas told Radio Gallega.
"At times you think of leaving in order to improve, and sometimes it goes well and other times it goes badly.
"There is a lot of competition to play in the national team and those who have a chance of making it are considering their options, whether to stay or to leave in order to play more."
