Manchester ‘like living in a cave’

Nolito has spoken of his difficulties leaving in Manchester including his daughter’s face looking like ‘she’s been living in a cave’.

The 30-year-old forward was Pep Guardiola’s first major signing as Manchester City boss last summer but despite netting three goals in his first four appearances, he made only one league start in 2017.

“I have learnt very, very little English, it’s really hard,” Nolito told El Transistor.

“Just ‘tomorrow’, ‘good morning’, ‘good afternoon’ and a little bit more.

“My daughter’s face has changed colour — it looks like she’s been living in a cave.”

Despite photographs on Tuesday showing the forward meeting with Sevilla sporting director Oscar Arias, he denied that any deal had been struck.

“I am under the contract, so the club will decide, put I want to leave,” he continued.

“I haven’t played in six months. I will do everything possible to make Spain’s World Cup squad.

“I was just casually shopping for clothes for my wife in Seville.

“I went to get a coffee and bumped into Sevilla’s director of football casually.

“I later met the Sevilla president, and I’m just glad no one took a photo.”
