Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has confirmed that Unai Emery will stay on as Coach but warned “we wanted more”.
Emery guided PSG to a treble of domestic cups in his first campaign at the helm, but the Basque’s successes were tainted by a 6-1 thrashing to Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 – despite a 4-0 lead from the first leg – and losing the Ligue 1 title to Monaco.
“He’s going to stay here 200 percent, I’m sure he's happy here and we’re happy with him,” Al-Khelaifi said after the Parisians’ 1-0 victory over Angers in the Coupe de France Final.
“It wasn’t our best season, despite having won three trophies. It wasn’t bad, but we wanted more.
“There are many things that need to be changed, but now isn’t the time to talk.”
