Nolito: I want to leave City

Nolito has confirmed that he wants to leave Manchester City after “a year to forget” under Pep Guardiola.

Nolito joined City from Celta Vigo last summer for £13.8m and scored six goals in 30 appearances during 2016-17.

However, the Spanish attacker made just one start in the second half of the season, prompting him to seek another move.

“I’d like to leave, whether that be on loan, permanently…” he told Marca.

“I know about Atletico, Celta … These are things for my representatives.

“I’m calm and on holiday at the moment, but I’m thinking about returning to Spain.

“Until December I was playing and happy, but during these four months, I’ve played practically no games. We’ll see what happens in the summer.

“My exile? I don’t know the reason why, you’ll have to ask Pep Guardiola. It’s been a year to forget, an experience that hasn’t gone as I expected,

“Still, we must continue and see if a solution can be found in the summer.”
