Espanyol frustration at Lopez negotations

Tottenham Hotspur and Espanyol are at loggerheads with the fee involved for the transfer of goalkeeper Pau Lopez this summer, say reports in Spain.

According to Diario Sport, Spurs have offered ‘just over €2m’ for the 22-year-old shot-stopper, who initially joined the North London club on a season-long loan deal last summer.

However, both Sport and El Mundo Deportivo report this is well below the €7m which the Premier League club had agreed with the Catalans last year.

Both clubs are reportedly confident of a deal going through although there is frustration from Espanyol representatives that negotiations are progressing so slowly.

The Girona-native is yet to make a first-team appearance at White Hart Lane having featured in 36 La Liga fixtures last season.
