Sevilla are hopeful of signing Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira this summer and are confident of landing him for below his €12m release clause.
According to Estadio Deportivo, the Andalucians are entering into negotiations for the highly-rated Uruguayan, whose agent Pablo Bentancur confirmed the player would be open to the move.
The 21-year-old only joined Samp from Pescara last summer and his deal at Stadio Luigi Ferraris runs until June 2020, but there is willingness on all sides to do a deal.
Sky Sport Italia concur with the report in the Seville-based paper but note that Pescara – already-relegated from Italy’s top flight – would also be due 20 per cent of any future transfer fee as part of that deal.
Torreira has participated in 32 league outings for Samp this season but has failed to score his first goal for the club as yet.
