Alba to head Barca exit list?

Barcelona will need to sell players before adding to their first-team squad in the summer transfer window, say reports in Spain.

AS state the Blaugrana are targeting a number of players this summer including Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho and Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin as they look to reshape their squad following Luis Enrique’s departure.

However the reports continues that ‘a number’ of current stars at the Catalan club will have to be moved on to facilitate any incomings, with former Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan and defender Jeremy Mathieu topping the list.

Perhaps more surprisingly, full-back Jordi Alba is also on the drawn-up list of players who may depart the Camp Nou this summer. The former Valencia defender has not featured regularly in recent months due to a formation tweak by Enrique.

The 28-year-old has expressed his desire to stay at Barca but he wants to be guaranteed regular opportunities in the first-choice XI, while he was recently linked to a loan move to Atletico Madrid to facilitate the signing of Theo Hernandez.
