Barca ‘open Verratti talks’

Barcelona have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti over a summer transfer, according to reports in Spain.

El Mundo Deportivo state the Italian’s agent Donato Di Campli has met twice with Barca officials during the last two Champions League matches held at the Camp Nou, the first of which saw the Parisians thrashed 6-1.

The report states that despite the 24-year-old’s ‘great excitement’ surrounding a potential move to the Spanish champions, he wants to firstly see what offer is on the table before deciding whether or not he would seek a move from France.

The Catalan newspaper also reports the ‘massive stumbling block’ on any deal is PSG’s reluctance to sell players who they see as pivotal to their side, one of whom is Verratti which means the Blaugrana must pay ‘considerably more’ before any offer is considered.
