Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco looks set to miss the first leg of the Champions League semi final against Real Madrid with a shoulder injury.

The 23-year-old fell awkwardly in a challenge with Villarreal's Antonio Rukavina and was replaced after a few minutes of attempting to play on.

"The Belgian was X-rayed and the report provided by the club's medical services indicates that he suffers a grade I acromioclavicular joint sprain," read an Atletico statement.

AS now claim the injury will take two weeks to heal, ruling him out of the first leg of the semi final at the Bernabeu and is a doubt for the return leg at the Vicente Calderon.

Atletico captain is quoted as saying by Marca in regards to Carrasco’s injury: "It was very painful for him, he could hardly move his hand.

"We wait on the tests, but it does not look good."
