No Barca decision on Enrique successor

Barcelona are no closer to making a decision on Luis Enrique’s successor, according to sporting director Robert Fernandez.

Enrique confirmed in February that he would be leaving the role after three seasons in charge with a number of potential replacements linked including Athletic Bilbao Coach Ernesto Valverde and Enrique’s assistant Juan Carlos Unzue.

"I'm working on it," Fernandez replied on RAC1 when asked how the search for a Coach was going.

"But the most important thing right now is to finish the season well. I want Luis Enrique to go out as a league and cup champion.

"So we don't want to divert the attention away from that. We don't know who it will be yet and we're not in a rush [to make an appointment]. When we have to make a decision, we will make one.

"I won't rule anyone out…we're working on it and we will communicate our decision when the moment comes. I will come up with a list of names and the president and the board will take it from there."
