Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal insists Sergio Ramos’ red card decided the Clasico in Barcelona’s favour, not Lionel Messi.
Messi’s last-ditch winner secured a dramatic 3-2 victory for Barca on Sunday, although Carvajal believes Ramos’ dismissal proved more of a turning point.
“It was a crazy game, the red card decided the match,” he said after the game.
“We managed to get back level, but ultimately a counterattack took the three points.
“Calmness is needed, it’s no big deal. We have one more game left than them, this is football and we have to keep going.
“Messi’s performance? Barcelona won. Messi had a great game, but Barcelona won.
“You can’t criticise the team, we have another League game on Wednesday and we must keep going. There’s still a long way to go.”
