Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in offering Cesc Fabregas a way back to LaLiga, with the midfielder not a Chelsea regular.
Mundo Deportivo cites Eurosport in claiming Los Colchoneros’ interest in the Spain international, who has only played the full match on six occasions under Antonio Conte.
Cesc turns 30 next month and has lost his place in the national team as a result of his struggles at Stamford Bridge, with Atletico inquiring into his availability on the basis that a return to Spain could give the former Barcelona player a way back under Julen Lopetegui.
Any move to Atletico would though be dependent on the club successfully appealing their transfer embargo when the case goes to the Court of Arbitration for Sport because, as it stands, Atletico are barred from making signings this summer.
But Atletico are hopeful of overturning the summer ban and could push for a double swoop on the Premier League leaders, as they still hope to bring back Diego Costa.
