Iniesta: Barca must turn page

Andres Iniesta refused to dwell on Barcelona’s 2-0 defeat to Malaga on Saturday as “we must turn the page, thinking only about Juventus”.

Barca’s loss was also marred by yet more poor refereeing, but while Iniesta – a second-half substitute – accepted a third straight La Liga title was “more complicated now”, he felt blaming the officials “didn’t solve anything”.

“Yes, it was a real shame, we’ve missed a good opportunity to put ourselves in a favourable situation to win the title,” the midfielder said after the game.

“Hopefully we won’t fail again but the League is more complicated now, the table is there and it doesn’t lie.

“We had a good game and fought until the final whistle, but sometimes things don’t go well for you.

“Malaga were also able to take advantage of their opportunities very well.

“I’m one of those that think that talking about referees doesn’t solve anything. It’s not easy to make decisions on the pitch.

“We must draw conclusions from this game and then forget about it. We must turn the page, changing our mentality and thinking only about Juve.”
