Sevilla Coach Jorge Sampaoli has insisted his side do not lack freshness and rued their lack of ruthlessness in front of goal.
Los Rojiblancos were held to a scoreless draw by relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon on Sunday and have now gone five matches without a victory, slipping to fourth in the table.
"I do not see a lack of freshness, but we could not hit the target once we were in the opposition's half," Sampaoli told reporters after the match.
"We must improve in regard to converting our chances.
"At other times of the year, we have played the same way and won, we have to go through this [downturn in form] at the moment, and we must move forward.
"Do we have less energy now than earlier in the season? I do not agree with that analysis.
"The team was less energetic in the first half than the second [against Sporting], and I don't feel the same as I did after the Leganes game where we were very flat.
"In this game, the frustration was greater because the search [for all three points] was greater."
