Jose Antonio Reyes admits his injury-time winner against Real Betis in La Liga on Friday was as much for Sevilla fans as those of Espanyol.
Former Sevilla man Reyes did not hold back in his celebrations after his wonder-strike in the 90th minute, which secured Espanyol a 2-1 victory over Betis to leave the Catalans within just five points of the Europa League places.
“I didn’t think about the Betis fans, I did so more about the Sevilla fans, they’re also delighted with this goal so it’s for them too,” the attacker said after the game.
“I struck them with soul. In these games, you have to go at your opponents with soul.”
