Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has left the door open for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe to join the club this summer – “we would embrace him”.
Speaking ahead of Spain’s friendly against France when Ramos will come head-to-head with the 18-year-old forward, he was asked directly about the possibility of the highly-rated star moving to the Bernabeu.
“I don’t think Florentino Perez will ring me to decide whether someone has to come to Real Madrid or not,” joked Ramos at a pre-match press conference.
“Real Madrid always has their door open to the best players and if they decide that he (Mbappe) has to come then we would embrace him in the best way.
“But obviously talking about players that are not in the team would show a lack of respect for those at the club right now.”
