Diego Costa believes he has finally adapted to Spain’s style of play after scoring in Friday’s 4-1 victory over Israel.
Costa netted his fourth goal in as many 2018 World Cup qualifiers at El Molinon as Spain ensured top spot in Group G remained theirs, and the Chelsea striker is delighted that Coach Julen Lopetegui “counts on me”.
“Lopetegui? He counts on me and that makes me happy,” he said after the game.
“I always try to do my best in every game. I’m now used to the style of play here.
“Macedonia in June? It’ll be a key match and it’s important for us to win it.
“It’ll also be a date when [club] competitions are over, so we’ll need to be focused.”
