Jorge Sampaoli believes his side must ‘find the authentic version of Sevilla’ in the wake of Sunday’s 3-1 defeat at Atletico Madrid.
The Andalucians league title bid has been derailed after winning only two points from their last three outings, whilst also suffering a surprise Champions League exit at the hands of Leicester City in the quarter finals.
"Circumstances are going against us,” Sampaoli told reporters after the defeat at the Vicente Calderon.
"These things have to do with the emotional side. We had a lot of expectations, were close to top of Liga and Champions League quarter finals. When that did not go in our favour, now we need to recover and get on the path we were on.
"We must try and find the authentic version of Sevilla, and there is time for us to recover that."
Sevilla now sit six points behind Barcelona and eight off league leaders Real Madrid, who have played a game less.
