Andres Iniesta insists La Liga “is still alive” for Barcelona, who will “keep fighting” in the title race after Sunday’s 4-2 victory over Valencia.
Barca closed their gap on Madrid back on two points after a return to winning ways against Valencia, and Iniesta commended his teammates for “a great game”, which they controlled “at all times”.
“We played well, we controlled the game at all times and they took advantage of a set-piece and a counter,” the midfielder told Movistar+.
“Overall, we had a great game and tried to apply rhythm in our play in order to find spaces.
“We really tried and had many chances to score earlier, but we weren’t able to do so and Alves also made a lot of saves.
“Andre Gomes’ goal? I’m happy for everyone when they score. It’s all about picking up points and taking a chance if it presents itself.
“The League is still alive for us, our obligation is to be prepared if an opportunity [to close the gap on Madrid] arises.
“We have to keep fighting in the event that a chance to take a step further arises.”
