Luis Suarez stressed Barcelona’s comeback against Paris Saint-Germain “didn’t take its toll on us at all” during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Deportivo La Coruna.
Barca were not at their intense best against Depor, the game having come just three days after the Catalans overturned a 4-0 deficit in the Champions League, but Suarez made it clear “we’d rested and recovered well”.
“We gave away many minutes in the first half and they took advantage of them to create chances and score the first goal,” the forward said after the game.
“We managed to equalise, but then they scored a second goal from a set-piece. They pushed us hard.
“There are things for us to improve on, like always, when we win or lose.
“The game against PSG didn’t take its toll on us, not at all. We’d rested and recovered well.
“Depor played the ball a lot. They showed that they wanted to move away from the bottom and were competitive.
“We won’t drop our heads in the League, it’s not a blow for us. We can’t go from saying we did very well the other day in the Champions League to that we did everything wrong here.”
