Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta struck a protesting fan with his car on Wednesday night when leaving Bourget airport, say reports.
The man, who reportedly suffered an injury to his back, was transported to a nearby hospital in Saint Denis for treatment, although his injuries are not thought to be serious says a report in RMC France.
A group of 30 fans of the French champions are said to have gone to the airport in the French capital, where their side were arriving back following their humiliating defeat in Barcelona, with police services apparently understaffed to cope with the incidents.
Surveillance cameras then caught Motta’s car leaving the airport – where he was accompanied by his wife – with his vehicle striking one fan, who then appeared to attach himself to the car before eventually falling off.
The former Barcelona and Inter Milan midfielder did not participate in either leg of the tie, which Unai Emery’s side lost 6-5 on aggregate.
