Sergi Roberto relived his historic winner against Paris Saint-Germain as the Barcelona fans “were worth 10 players”.
Sergi came off the bench to score a last-gasp goal that completed the biggest comeback in Champions League history, with Barca overturning a 4-0 deficit to beat PSG 6-5 on aggregate.
“I don’t know how I scored it, I saw the ball coming from behind me and threw everything at it,” the defender-midfielder said after the game.
“I then saw it cross the line and then saw myself underneath all my teammates. It’s a moment and a goal that I’ll never forget.
“Look, we were really messed up by what happened in Paris, but from the very first moment we all believed that it was possible to come back … and that’s what happened.
“We knew we were being faced by a very complicated but not impossible challenge. It was proved again that this team, this Barca, are made for everything, to take on any challenge.
“When I came on, we needed three goals and there wasn’t much time left, but the team worked to their fullest, fighting to the maximum, and in football almost anything is possible.
“We also had fantastic fans on our side. They were the 12th man, but I’d say tonight that the fans were worth 10 players.”
