Paris Saint-Germain’s contract talks with defender Marquinhos have stalled amid speculation he could one day join Barcelona.
The French champions turned down a €60m offer for the 22-year-old in the summer – thought to be from the Catalans – but his agent Giuliano Bertolucci has now given an interview which did little to dampen rumours he may be set for a move away from Paris.
"There have not been any talks with PSG for five months, the renewal is at a standstill,” Bertolucci is quoted as saying by El Mundo Deportivo.
"For now I have not had any [new] contact with Barca…PSG president [Nasser Al-Khelaifi] never wanted to negotiate the player's exit and the clubs didn't manage to reach an agreement.
"He didn't want to negotiate with Barca – nor with any other club.
"The Spanish league is a really interesting one to play in and Barca are a great club.
"He has a great understanding with Neymar and there's always interest in a club like that. There are also other great teams in the Premier League."
