Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas has praised Unai Emery – his former Coach at Sevilla – ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s second leg tie with Barcelona.
The 29-year-old played one season under Emery at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan in 2014-15, where he netted ten goals in 25 appearances, and despite having a public spat with the manager he praised his ‘methodical’ methods.
“Emery is a great coach, a very methodical one,” explained Aspas.
“He likes controlling everything and he works really well on tactical aspects.
“I had a good relationship with Emery, I spoke to him recently and I sent him a text after PSG beat Barcelona because it was a great match for him and his staff.
“It’s true we had a little fight with each other (when at Sevilla) but that is something that happened on the pitch, so we left that within the changing room.”
