Valencia captain Dani Parejo praised the impact of January signings Simone Zaza and Fabian Orellana after both scored against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The Italian striker – on loan from Juventus – opened the scoring for Los Che before Orellana, who arrived from Celta Vigo in a permanent deal, doubled their lead in the ninth minute to stun Zinedine Zidane’s side.
"If you want to have a starring role, you need to have a centre-forward,” Parejo told Cadena Ser.
"This is something we didn't have this season, and Valencia has always had a No. 9. Now we have that with Zaza, who is proving a key player.
"Orellana is also giving his contribution up front and he is great for assists.”
The victory took Zoro’s side up to 14th, ten points clear of the relegation zone.
