Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has dismissed speculation he could leave the club this summer to join Barcelona.
The Italian midfielder was part of the Parisian’s side who thrashed Barcelona 4-0 at the Parc des Princes last week in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 encounter, leading to reports in the Spanish media that the Blaugrana were considering signing him next summer.
“An article implied I was dreaming to play for Barcelona, but I’ve never said that,” Verratti told reporters.
“My dream is to win here, in Paris, even if we hadn’t won the first leg I’d be saying that.
“I trust the club and the project. When you are a part of a great project you feel very good about it and in my opinion winning here is different to winning at all other clubs.”
