Ramos goals ‘no coincidence’ – Reina

Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has hailed the decisiveness of Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, believing his late goals are ‘no coincidence’.

The two have been international teammates for the best part of a decade, with the Madrid defender continually scoring decisive late goals including an equaliser in the Champions League final in 2014 and this season at the Camp Nou and against Sevilla in the European Super Cup.

"Ramos' determination makes the difference," Reina said on the 'A Diario' programme on Radio MARCA.

"His arrivals into the area in the 93rd-minute are no coincidence."

The former Barcelona and Villarreal shot-stopper admitted his side needed to be ‘brave’ in order to defeat Madrid, but doesn’t believe they’re contenders for the trophy.

"We are in a good moment," he added.

"We have to have personality and be faithful to our style – people are very excited, about the return in particular, though we are aware of the difficulty.

"The only way to win is to be brave and go for it.

"We are realistic, too, we're not candidates to win the Champions League."
