Paris Saint-Germain defender Maxwell is impressed by the humility shown by Lionel Messi despite all his success.
The 29-year-old has won eight LaLiga titles, four Copas del Rey and four Champions League's during his time at Barcelona, in addition to countless personal awards.
"Nobody wants to play against Barca before the final," Maxwell said when asked about the prospect of his team facing the Catalan giants in the Champions League Round of 16. "They have been the favourites from the start.
"We have now played them in three knockout ties. The two teams know each other, we are going to try to make it different from the other times.
"Messi is a unique player, different to the others. His humility struck me, as someone with so much professional success he has so much simplicity personally."
The Brazilian, however, refused to compare Messi to his international teammate Neymar, insisting the two players possess different qualities.
"There are different qualities. Ney has a magic way of playing, he makes us dream football."
