Official: Las Palmas sign Jese

Las Palmas have confirmed the loan signing of former Real Madrid attacker Jese Rodriguez from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Las Palmas – Jese's hometown club – have secured the 23-year-old's services after he joined PSG from Real Madrid in a €25 million deal in the summer of 2016.

"The Gran Canaria-born forward Jese Rodriguez will play on loan at UD Las Palmas until June 30, 2016,” read a Las Palmas club statement.

"The specific wish of the player to wear the yellow colours has been crucial for the agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to get done."

The two clubs have been locked in negotiations throughout January regarding the move but wages have proved the main stumbling block on the temporary deal being concluded, however the Argentine striker Sergio Araujo moving on to AEK Athens on loan has allowed the Gran Canarian club to increase their offer.

Middlesbrough had maintained interest of signing the forward under Aitor Karanka – former assistant manager at Madrid – but Jese wished for a return to Los Amarillos.
