Garitano happy with Leganes season

Coach Asier Garitano describes the first half of Leganes' season as 'very positive,' despite a run of just one win in 14 matches in all competitions.

The club from the outskirts of Madrid are enjoying their first ever campaign in the Primera Liga, having been promoted last season, and are five points clear of the relegation places.

"The first half of the season is very positive," Garitano said ahead of his players' meeting with Alaves. "To be able to be here, the fact we haven't been in the relegation places at any stage.

"No matter what happens, we will be on a big high. For a team like ours, it [the situation] is very good.

"The idea is to be able to maintain this feeling or to improve it if we manage to stay up."

The Leganes boss is impressed by today's opponents, who were also promoted last season, adding that his side will need to be at their best in the Basque country.

"We will have to do a lot of things well in order to have options. The opponents are very good, playing very well, they have adapted well."
