Deportivo La Coruna striker Florin Andone has been named La Liga’s best player for December.
Having failed to open his account for Depor until his 11th League appearance, Andone – a €4.7m arrival from Cordoba over the summer – went on to score three goals and assist two more last month.
“For me, it’s a source of pride. I never imagined that I could be at this level and it’s a real pleasure,” the Romanian striker said upon receiving the award.
“This has been possible thanks to my team, who worked very hard last month and were able to achieve positive results.
“I always want more and more, I always want to get stuck in and contribute 100 percent.
“In the second tier, the football is more physical and direct, but ultimately the level is a bit lower. La Liga is the best [League] in the world.
“We’re on an upward curve and now much better, more united and more compact.”
