Rakitic to leave Barca if Enrique stays?

The future of Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is closely linked to that of current boss Luis Enrique, with the Croatian midfielder not enjoying his style of management.

Reports in Spain say that any move would be ‘extremely complicated’ as the club place great value upon his role in the current squad and see his position as irreplaceable in the current market.

However, speculation over the 28-year-old’s future at Camp Nou has intensified in the past week after various reports from Croatia suggested he was on the verge of leaving the Blaugrana with Manchester City in pole position to sign him in January.

The report goes on to state that there are ‘personal issues’ between the former Sevilla midfielder and current Barca boss, with Rakitic not prepared to remain at the club if the former Roma and Celta Vigo manager is still in his role next season.

The speculation over Enrique’s future has not died down in recent weeks as it remains unclear if he will sign a new deal with the Catalans beyond the current campaign.

If Enrique does decide to stay on, the offer the midfielder has from Pep Guardiola’s City could see him make a big-money move to the Etihad.
